For Your Entertainment: Elements of Story Writing

Tonight, I'm simply sharing a great way to learn the five elements in a story via Flocabulary. Simple, easy, and hopefully, something new for you.

There are approximately (because there are professors who will argue many other points, but those are for another time) five elements we use in a story and I can sit here and type them out for you-OR I can be like the governess in the Sound of Music and ask myself out loud, "Self, how can I explain this? Oh, I know... we can rap it about it!"

And instead of singing and having you beg me to stop, I share this amazing song and page source with you. Go on. Do it. Leave this page (just for a moment). You're curious. Click the PLAY when you see the video.

Gotta love art.

"...covers the five main elements of a story: setting, plot, characters, conflict and theme."

5 Elements of writing:
Plot the sequential main events in a story
Character a person (or many) in a story
Conflict the struggle between opposing forces
Theme the general idea of a story
Setting the context, time, and location of a story

And just for fun... here is Flocabulary's brief look at writing academic rhyme.
